Anyone who has followed this expedition has been aware that it has taken a long time to get to the start line. The experience of trying to get the team to Zambia is a story in itself - the ‘expedition before the expedition’.
Despite numerous setbacks, expedition leader Toby Storie-Pugh has remained utterly determined to complete the mission he first defined in 2015. As is often the case, desperation is the mother of invention. Toby founded the hospitality company ‘The Tiger’s Tale’ as a means to underwrite the expedition costs.
Already one of the highest rated short-let hosts in London, his determination and attention to detail has allowed the business, in only 18 months, to reach a scale where it can provide the crucial financial foundation for the expedition.
